The fens will be left to flood when the sea level rises and can’t be stopped by the sea defences or the powers that be won’t spend any more money to protect this valuable asset. The content of the book gives an insight in to the geology of the fens and the areas that will be left to perish. 1⁰C of global sea tempreature rise will raise sea level by 10m. A large part of the fens are below sea level, this fertile area produces 20% of our countries food production and five million people live within the area.
